The above images are sketchbook entries taken from my most recent project, which was the Sigur Ros Knitting Project. I found this project the most enjoyable so far as it allowed the most freedom to digress off into different directions and come up with new and innovative ideas. My final designs included a lot of textured knitting created using soft natural yarns and were inspired by both Sigur Ros and also from fashion images and illustrations found in Vogue and iD magazine.

pretty things..

This morning, I created this mood board using Adobe Photoshop to demonstrate my theme through imagery & text. I used gradient tools to blend the images into one another.

I love this. x

The above image is one of my knitted samples manipulated using Adobe Photoshop to show what it may look like as a finished product. This image and garment links to my current theme boards and research.

This morning I created a bunch of knitted samples! This work is to be mounted for the first year knit category in Bradford Textiles Society's upcoming competition. More pictures to come :)

Sigur Rós inspiration..

This trend board was inspired by Icelandic band, Sigur Rós. I have looked at the natural environment and focused on pale pantones to create this mood. I have taken a contemporary approach to arranging traditional techniques and imagery. I like this.

This weave sample was created for a textile competition hosted by Bradford Textiles Society and was inspired by the natural world. It is a mixed media piece combining yarn with non traditional weaving materials such as human hair, dried plants and synthetic grass.

Creative Sketchbook!

Today, I decided jazz up my sketchbook a little by creating this hand quilted cover. The fabric & texture were chosen purposely to suit the theme of the sketchbook. I love this!

This is a variation of my first trend board. It contains the same woven fabric sample only within a different environment. I love the sense of the changing seasons within this image. Spring to Autumn, Autumn to Winter.

My first blog entry! Trend market board created for Mango womenswear, inspired by traditional Scottish tartans & the great outdoors. I designed and produced this woven fabric sample using an 8 shaft table loom. The fabric was then scanned in and manipulated using Photoshop to demonstrate my ideas.
